Dr. DeSandre is a certified nurse midwife and family nurse practitioner. She completed her doctoral degree in Human Development & Family Science at the University of Georgia in May 2014. Her area of special interest is chronic disease development and management in families. In addition to her nursing faculty role, Dr. DeSandre serves Assistant Dean for the College of Health Sciences & Professions and as Curriculum Chair and Director of Interprofessional Education. Dr. DeSandre maintains a clinical practice at Good Samaritan Health Center of Gwinnett, and serves as program director for annual international medical mission trips to Bolivia and Uganda in partnership with Helping Hands Foreign Ministries.
