Kimberly Burns is an assistant professor of nursing for the College of Health Sciences & Professions. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from North Georgia College and State University and has been teaching in the nursing program since 2012. She has over 30 years of nursing experience. She is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner and her clinical practice focus is primary care. She volunteers as a nurse practitioner at the Community Helping Place Free Clinic providing primary care to uninsured individuals living in Lumpkin County. She has a particular interest in serving the uninsured and medical missions to underserved areas.
