Overview
Dr. Lisa Ousley is a certified family nurse practitioner. She has practiced nursing for over 30 years, has been a primary care provider for over 20 years, and has been in full-time academia for the past 12 years. Over the past 10 years, Dr. Ousley continues to be an active advocate and participant in Interprofessional Education (IPE). The majority of Dr. Ousley’s clinical experience is in primary care, university and school health, and disaster response. She appreciates being a generalist and currently practices in a small family practice clinic in Cumming GA. Dr. Ousley is especially interested in the largest organ, the skin, and the various dermatological disorders across the lifespan. She is a nurse innovator, obtaining a U.S. Patent in January 2022 for Instructional Dermatology Surface Models (IDSMs). Dr. Ousley’s research over the past 4 years has centered around IDSMs content and face validity and integration of IDSMs into advanced practice education. She has numerous journal publications and book chapters related to dermatology and skin disease. Dr. Ousley is an advocate for being involved in state and national organizations that support nurses and advanced nursing practice. She is the current Secretary for the UAPRN GA Executive State Board.
