Overview

Dr. Cate has a Ph.D. in Social/Cognitive Psychology from Georgia State University. Her research/concentration areas are sex hormones, human sexuality, and women's issues. After completing her Ph.D. in 2003, she returned to her Alma Mater where she has taught Introduction to Psychology, Social Psychology, Human Sexuality, The Psychology of Women, Research Methods, Abnormal Psychology, Theories of Personality, & International Principles of Psychology. Dr. Cate also routinely teaches Honors Introduction to Psychology, Honors Social Psychology, and supervises the Psychology internships. She is an Honors Program faculty affiliate and currently serves as the Chair of the Institutional Review Board and as the Chair Emerita of the Gender Studies Council.​
