Jessica "Bird" Brown
Overview
Prior to her employment with the University Events team, Jessica served the University of North Georgia as the Associate Director of Campus Recreation & Wellness for almost a decade, where her primary responsibilities were to oversee the Outdoor Pursuits Program and the 20 plus student workers who assisted her in the management of the program. In her tenure with Campus Recreation, Jessica planned, implemented and executed many events for the UNG community which provided her with a unique perspective in event planning that has assisted her in her transition to the University Events team. In addition, Jessica has served UNG as an adjunct faculty member previously teaching an Introduction to Outdoor Leadership course.
Born in Athens, GA and raised in Elberton, GA, Jessica moved to Dahlonega in the fall of 2004 to start her undergraduate career as a freshman student on the campus of North Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education with a minor in Leadership in 2009, and then earned her Master of Science degree in Physical Education in 2012.
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys traveling, kayaking and hiking/camping/backpacking.
