Juried Alumni Exhibition
Hand & Heart
The 2026 juried alum exhibition explores the way that the fine arts and crafts invite connection. They are meant to be seen, held, and lived with, bringing people together while prompting reflection and dialogue. The works created by artists and craftspeople function not only as objects of admiration, but as bridges between neighbors, friends, loved ones, and strangers. Objects shaped by the hand can resonate deeply, forging connections that are felt in the heart.
The juror for this exhibition is Kyle Anthony Clark who earned an undergraduate degree in art education from the University of North Georgia, where he studied from 2009 to 2013. He serves as an Assistant Professor in the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Alabama.
The annual juried alum exhibition is open to all former visual arts students of the University of North Georgia, North Georgia College, and Gainesville State University.

Juried BFA Exhibition
Annual juried exhibition featuring work by UNG’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Students. The juror was Isabella Martino, the 2026 Best in Show winner from the 2025 Juried Alum Exhibition.
Martino invited the BFA students to consider the theme of Pests & Other Misunderstood Creatures.
She encouraged artists to examine misunderstood beings through ecological, cultural, personal, or metaphorical lenses, revealing the complexity and significance of life forms too often dismissed or feared.
Transfers: Craig Marshal Wilson and Allison Johnson
The Transfers exhibitions feature visual arts professors offering the Oconee community a view of artwork produced on the Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses. Wilson teaches drawing and painting. His own artwork reflects his teaching philosophy that emphasizes curiosity and exploration. Johnson teaches printmaking and creates projects addressing the cultural and ecological shifts in today’s landscape. These artists represent the range of artistic expression practiced by the UNG Visual Arts professors.
