Do you want to be an irresistible candidate to employers?  Do you know what it takes to be tapped for promotion once you land that first job?

Then, learn to be your best professional self, which means to develop specific skills that companies need in their employees.  If you listen carefully to hiring managers, most will describe similar competencies and personal qualities they find essential. If you are able to claim these attributes and provide examples, you will be a competitive candidate for the jobs you want.

If you would like help identifying and talking about your professional skills, talk with a career specialist in the Career Services office.

Other essential attributes desired, according to varied surveys include:

    • Interpersonal skills/emotional intelligence
    • Creative thinking
    • Project management
    • Focus
