The StartItUp Initiative has several activities designed to build and strengthen the entrepreneurial and innovative ecosystem at UNG and throughout the regional community.
The StartItUp Initiative includes both academic and non-academic entrepreneurship education and training.
The StartItUp Conference is an annual conference held to bring together experienced entrepreneurs, college and high school students, faculty, staff and community entrepreneurs in an effort to share knowledge, experiences and a passion for startups and entrepreneurship. The conference is a half-day event with an exciting collection of speakers with an objective to ignite an entrepreneurial mindset and a zeal for starting new businesses in the north Georgia region. This can only be accomplished through collaborative effort at all levels including university, high school and community members.
The StartItUp Conference has been successful in bringing members of the university, high school and community together and providing interaction among the member groups to kindle the entrepreneurial flame.

The StartItUp Fast Pitch provides an opportunity for aspiring student entrepreneurs to present their startup idea to a panel of experienced entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and other business executives. Each student team is given six minutes to present (pitch) their business concept developed in the ENTR 3020 - Entrepreneurial Mindset and Process course.
The purpose of the StartItUp Fast Pitch is to support UNG students in their efforts to start new ventures. In addition, the event is designed to help strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem at UNG and community at large.
