Healthcare Services & Informatics Administration (B.S.)
The Bachelor of Science with a major in healthcare services and informatics administration builds on a solid foundation of two years of liberal arts and science as prerequisites followed by two years immersion in healthcare services and healthcare informatics courses. The program prepares graduates to assume positions in a variety of healthcare settings performing complex tasks related to healthcare informatics in support of clinical and administrative functions.
Healthcare informatics professionals act as the bridge between highly technical information technology staff and healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses. There is a strong current need for healthcare informatics professionals with potential for prolonged future growth. Students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to manage the relationships between people and healthcare information systems. Graduates of this program will work as members of interdisciplinary healthcare teams in order to facilitate provision of safe, effective, high-quality healthcare using the latest technology tools.

Admissions Information
In order to qualify for admission to this program, students must:
- Complete all UNG undergraduate admission requirements
- Transfer students must have at least a 2.25 transferable/overall GPA and at least 30 hours of transferable coursework unless they meet freshmen admission requirements
- An overall GPA of 2.0 is required for students with an associates degree
