College of Education
The UNG College of Education (COE) is unlike any other in the nation because it features a unique mix of learning centers, institutes, and programs. We are the home for the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS) and the Appalachian Studies Center, which was designated by the Georgia General Assembly as the state’s official center for the study of Appalachia in 2005.
Nationally recognized degree programs in kinesiology, teacher certification programs, and professional programs at the graduate level prepare students for dynamic careers. UNG offers immersive programs that provide real-time experience in the field. Teacher certification candidates spend more time in the classroom than at typical universities, and internship opportunities in kinesiology often lead to jobs right out of college. Get on track for your career today with a degree from the COE.
Our faculty are dynamic, collaborative, and committed to research, teaching, and service. In addition to classroom and clinical experiences, faculty and students work together in research, service to communities, competitive grants, and international exchanges. We have a commitment to understanding education and health as human rights, in a context of respect and celebration of regional engagement, intellectual curiosity, and international mindedness.
