New Hires

If you applied as an external applicant:

1. Access the University System of Georgia Careers Hub online.
2. Sign in to access your account using your username and password.
3. View your notifications.
4. In the notifications list select the 'Job Offer' link.
5. Review the offer details and follow the instructions to accept or reject the job offer.

If you applied as an internal applicant through OneUSG:

1. Navigate to OneUSG and sign in to access your account.
2. Select the Recruiting Self Service tile.
3. Select the Apply for Jobs tile.
4. View your notifications.
5. In the notifications list select the 'Job Offer' link.
6. Review the offer details and follow the instructions to accept or reject the job offer.

You should have received an email from Accurate (customer_service@accurate.com) to the email address provided on your application. If you are unable to locate the request in your email, check your spam folder.

Complete and submit the background investigation request.

Note: You cannot begin working until we have a successful background check on file.

You should have received an email from donotreply@equifax.com with the subject line “Your UNG New Hire Documents are Ready”. Select the link to complete the New Hire Packet

Identity and employment authorization\ I-9

We recommend that you bring your documents evidencing identity and employment authorization before your start date. Review the list of acceptable documents.

You are required to present to HR acceptable documents evidencing identity and employment authorization within the first three days of employment. 

Note: No copies are accepted; must be the original document.

To view your benefit options and enroll:

1. Visit OneUSG Connect.
2. Under "Manage My Benefits" click "Single Sign-On."
3. Find the UNG logo and click on it.
4. At the "Single Sign-On Portal" page, enter your network username and password (the username and password you use to sign into your computer on campus).
5. Now you should be able to view your available benefits and make your choices.

Effective Date

• Date of hire is first of month: Benefits become effective on date of hire.
• Date of hire not first of month: Benefits become effective on the first of the month following your date of hire.

Enrollment Deadline

You have 30 days from the date of hire to make elections. Failure to enroll in a timely manner will result in having to wait until a future annual open enrollment period to enroll.

Hourly, Non-Exempt Position

• You will automatically be enrolled in the Teacher's Retirement System (TRS).

Monthly, Exempt Position

• You have 60 days from date of hire to choose between the Teacher's Retirement System (TRS) or the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP).

Failure to enroll in one of these two options in a timely manner will result in your retirement election defaulting to the Teacher's Retirement System (TRS).
