Fall 2024 NFO

Full-Time Faculty

The 2024 Three-Day New Faculty Orientation (NFO) will be held Thursday, August 25 and Monday-Tuesday, July 29-30, 2024. All incoming faculty are invited to attend this event for important importation information regarding working at UNG. This orientation will be offered on Zoom and on the Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses. This orientation will be offered online on Zoom. Part-Time Faculty 

Part-time faculty are invited to attend the Three-Day NFO or to attend the Evening NFO. The Evening New Faculty Orientation will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024. Because of the low number of incoming faculty at Blue Ridge, Cumming and Oconee, we will not hold orientations on these campuses; instead, faculty are invited to attend in Dahlonega or Gainesville.

A light dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and the program begins at 6:00 p.m.

Full-Time Faculty

All new full-time faculty are expected to attend the three-day NFO in order to receive essential information for working at UNG. We recommend that faculty attend Thursday's orientation sessions (August 9, 2018) on the campus where they will do the majority of their teaching.

Because of the low number of incoming faculty at Blue Ridge, Cumming, and Oconee, we will not hold a Part-Time NFO for spring 2018 on these campuses; instead, faculty are invited to attend in Dahlonega or Gainesville.

Fall 2017

Full-Time NFO August 2017

Tuesday, August 8, 2017 through Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

All full-time faculty are expected to attend the three-day event, which is primarily geared to tenure-track faculty, but is useful to all instructors. Part-time and non-tenure-track faculty are also welcome.

Tuesday, August 8 – All new faculty will gather at the Dahlonega Campus, Library Technology Center, room 382.

Wednesday, August 9 – All new faculty will gather at the Gainesville Campus, Nesbitt building, room 3110.

Thursday, August 10 – We recommend that faculty attend on the campus where they will do the majority of their teaching. Campus-specific information is provided on this third day.

• Dahlonega faculty will meet at the Library Technology Center, room 382.
• Gainesville faculty will meet in Nesbitt, Room 3110.
• Oconee faculty will meet in SRC 581.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day.
