    Determine Your Mindset

Do you want to train your brain to work better? Would you like to learn how to study smarter, not harder? If you want to be a deep learner who enjoys school rather than endures it, and if you want to be able to apply what you learn, not only on tests but forever after, then I recommend the following:

    1. To determine your current Mindset, download the Growth Mindset Check Up.
    2. Next determine how "Gritty" you are, how willing you are to persevere through challenging circumstances.
    3. Now, if you want to capitalize on your strengths so you are learning more efficiently, determine what your current learning styles are, how your brain already processes information.
    4. Once you determine your top three Multiple Intelligences, engage your intelligences, inside and outside of the classroom. It’s not how smart you are; it’s how you’re smart!
    5. There is a difference between rote memorization and learning through understanding. Certain things are designed for rote memorization (like multiplication tables). However, merely repeating information doesn’t require active learning nor does it require actually understanding the information. Instead, we need to take our review time further and understand how ideas and information are connected. Memory and Learning has a deeper explanation.
    6. Now review Putting Multiple Intelligences to Work for You and begin Studying Smarter, not Harder, incorporating a Growth Mindset and your Gritty Determination!
