- All applicants must meet or have completed each of the following requirements:
- Pass or exempt the GACE Program Admissions Exam.
- The following test scores allow exemption:
- SAT - 1000 or higher (Verbal and Math scores combined)
- ACT - 43 or higher (English and Math scores combined)
- GRE - 301 or higher (revised scoring as of Jan 2011) OR 1030 or higher (old scoring) ***Verbal and Quantitative scores combined *
- GACE Content Area Exam(s) must also be passed at the Professional level before class begins. Visit the GACE website.
- Georgia Educator Ethics Exam
- Georgia Pre-Service Application
- A copy of your Driver's License or Passport for the Lawful Presence Verification.
- Possess a final college grade average of 2.75 or higher.
- Official transcripts from each college/university you have attended (can be sent directly to the COE Graduate Office).
- Pass or exempt the GACE Program Admissions Exam.
- Include all documentation that is required (Post Bac Application, Pre-Service Application, Ethics Entrance Exam Confirmation, Official Score reports of all GACE exams, and Verification of Lawful Presence forms) and the $50.00 application fee (checks made to: Pioneer Resa).

Important Program Notes
- The Post-Baccalaureate Program is a Professional Learning Unit (PLU) program that will lead to Initial Teacher Certification. PLU credit(s) cannot be applied or transferred into a Graduate degree.
- Additionally, a $50.00 non-refundable application fee is required.
- Program admission is contingent on the receipt of your Pre-Service Certificate from the GAPSC which includes a background check.
- Cohort begins each June and is held on the Cumming Campus
- Student Professional Liability Insurance must be purchased before beginning Internship. The projected cost is $7.00 to $20.00
- Student must purchase textbooks for each class
- Tentative Program Schedule: Summer: 3 Evening Classes Mon/Tues/Wed. Fall: 2 Evening Classes Mon/Wed and full-time practicum placement from early August thru the end of October. Spring: Internship class Mon evening once per month and full-time internship placement from Nov thru mid-May. All classes are hybrid which means you will typically be in class one week and online the next, however this is at the discretion of the professor.
Choosing a Content Area
Initial teacher certification is offered through the Post-Baccalaureate program in P-12, middle grades (dual cert in two MG content areas: Math, LART, Social Science, or Science) and secondary education areas, excluding special education and early childhood education.
The Georgia Professional Standards Commission requires that initial certification in a teaching field must match the degree obtained. Transcripts will need to be reviewed to determine area of initial certification before admission to the program.
