UNG partners with Intel on AI certificate
Supported by Intel AI Digital Readiness Programs, the University of North Georgia (UNG) is launching "AI for Georgia Professionals," a certificate that includes self-paced online learning and a synchronous online or in-person format.
UNG celebrated the launch of the certificate with a Jan. 7 demonstration at UNG's Dahlonega Campus.
An initiative of UNG's Evergreen Learning, this certificate costs $800 and focuses on:
- AI for citizens (6 hours, asynchronous online): Understand artificial intelligence, what it does, and how it's transforming work and daily life.
- Digital trust (6 hours, asynchronous online): Learn digital safety, privacy and responsible AI use.
- AI power user foundations (12 hours, synchronous online or in person): Unlock productivity with generative AI, apply AI agents to business functions, manage AI projects, and choose from multiple AI specialization tracks.
Registration for the certificate will open Jan. 13 on the UNG Evergreen Learning website.
"AI is no longer something reserved for technologists. It's becoming part of everyday work and life," said Renee Hayes, executive director of Evergreen Learning. "Our new AI certificate is designed to build confidence, digital trust and practical skills, giving Georgia professionals the tools they need to engage with AI thoughtfully and productively, through support from Intel."
This artificial intelligence certificate is intended for professionals in business, education, government, health care, nonprofits, and anyone who wants to stay competitive in an AI-driven world. No technical background is required.
"Together, with collaborators like the University of North Georgia, Intel is helping to make AI more accessible and inclusive through its technologies, digital readiness programs and training," said Anshul Sonak, global director for Intel's Digital Readiness Program. "Georgia's commitment to adopt a comprehensive statewide approach to upskill and reskill working professionals' AI understanding, mindsets and tool sets is inspiring, and will help to boost business competitiveness and long-term innovation across the region."
