    Claims

    It is the responsibility of Risk Management & Compliance to coordinate with the Department of Administrative Services, all claims that may arise. If you need to report claims please follow these instructions:

    Reporting an injury claim:

    • First contact Public Safety (University Police) at (706) 864-1500 or the local law enforcement agency in that area and file an incident report.
    • Public Safety will contact the appropriate medical personnel.
    • Safeguard yourself from further injury.
    • Report all claims to Risk Management & Compliance within 48 hours of the incident by calling (706)864-1463 or emailing darren.martin@ung.edu (Public Safety will typically notify Risk Management but feel free to call Risk Management to confirm)
    • Cooperate with the claims process by providing all supporting documentation as requested. This may include but is not limited to incident reports, witness statements, correspondence, photographs, medical records & bills.

    Reporting a property claim:

    • First contact Public Safety (University Police) at (706)864-1500 and file an incident report.
    • Safeguard property from further injury.
    • Report all claims to Risk Management & Compliance within 48 hours of the incident by calling (706)864-1463 or emailing darren.martin@ung.edu (Public Safety will typically notify Risk Management but feel free to call Risk Management to confirm)
    • Cooperate with the claims process by providing all supporting documentation as requested. This may include but is not limited to incident reports, witness statements, correspondence, photographs, invoices and estimates to repair.

    Reporting an auto claim:

    • First contact Public Safety (University Police) at (706)864-1500 and file an incident report.
    • If you are driving a University owned vehicle then report all auto accidents to the Claims Center by calling 1-877-656-7475 within 48 hours.
    • If an injury has occurred then Public Safety will contact the appropriate medical personnel.
    • Safeguard the scene and parties involved from further injury.
    • Safeguard property from further damage.
    • Report all claims to Risk Management & Compliance within 48 hours of the incident by calling (706)864-1463 or emailing darren.martin@ung.edu (Public Safety will typically notify Risk Management but feel free to call Risk Management to confirm)
    • Cooperate with the claims process by providing all supporting documentation as requested. This may include but is not limited to incident reports, witness statements, correspondence, photographs, medical records, bills, invoices and estimates to repair.
