James P. Crone is the Director of Marketing and Creative Services at the University of North Georgia (UNG). Jim leads a talented team that manages institutional marketing, advertising, creative development, licensing, and UNG's official social media channels.

Jim brings to UNG over twenty years of experience as a marketing leader in industry at both entrepreneurial & global firms. His professional focus is developing collaborative teams that accelerate growth and enhance brand reputation while cultivating productive relationships with all stakeholders.

Dr. Crone is experienced in developing strategic marketing approaches using a full range of digital and traditional communication channels. He held key global account leadership roles with major brands including Activision, Apple, CNL Financial Group, the Coca-Cola Company, Eastman Kodak, Ferrari Maserati U.S.A., Georgia Aquarium, IBM, Intel, Levi Strauss & Co., Microsoft, and Yahoo!

His team's marketing work is recognized with numerous national awards for creativity and articles profiling these initiatives featured in leading industry journals, including Harvard Business Review and Communications Arts.

Jim earned a Doctor of Business Administration from Georgia State University, publishing a dissertation, "The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Esports Viewership Trends." He holds an M.B.A. in strategic management and a B.B.A. in entrepreneurial management from Pace University in New York. Jim is a distinguished graduate of the USAF's Air University Professional Military Education (PME) programs, including Air War College, Air Command & Staff College, and Squadron Officer College.
