Feed the Funnel
9/11 National Day of Service
Turning a Day of Tragedy Into a Day of Doing Good
The September 11 attacks changed our nation forever. To honor the victims and heroes, 9/11 Day was created to transform the day of tragedy into a National Day of Service.
At the University of North Georgia (UNG), a senior military college, this day holds a special meaning. As the Military College of Georgia, we are committed to honoring the courage, sacrifice, and unity shown in the wake of the attacks.
Our annual Feed the Funnel event brings students, faculty, staff, and the community together to serve, echoing the resilience and compassion that emerged after 9/11.
Be Part of the Movement
Since 2023, UNG has packaged over 203,000 meals! Become a part of this national day of service.
This year's event is happening September 16, 2025.
Special Thanks to Our Event Sponsors
We extend heartfelt gratitude to our community partners, whose collaboration and generosity make this event possible.
The Pack Shack, for their continued partnership and logistical support through the Feed the Funnel initiative. Your energy, expertise, and commitment help us turn compassion into action.
For 9/11 Day, every dollar donated to our event is matched, doubling our impact in the fight against food insecurity. Through this partnership, UNG helps carry on the promise to "Never Forget" by doing good in their honor.
The Georgia Mountain Food Bank (GMFB) distributes the meals from our 9/11 National Day of Service to those who need them most. Distributing through a network of pantries and distribution sites across Lumpkin, Dawson, Forsyth, Hall, and Union counties, they fight hunger in North Georgia.
Buy a Meal for a Neighbor
Our goal is to raise funds to package thousands of nutritious meals for our neighbors in need. Every gift, regardless of size, helps make a difference.
Providing healthy, delicious meals for individuals and families facing food insecurity is only possible through the generosity of our supporters. When we work together to meet the needs of our communities, everyone benefits.
For just $0.37, you can provide one meal. This cost covers ingredients, packaging, equipment, supplies, staffing, and facilities needed to prepare and distribute meals to those who need them most.
Whether you give enough for one meal or one thousand, your contribution helps transform compassion into action and hope into nourishment.
Every meal matters. Every dollar counts. Every neighbor deserves a meal.
