    Coaching Expectations

    Coach Agreements

    1. Be prepared, present, and non-judgmental during our coaching sessions.
    2. Be a thought partner with you as you define academic goals and create a plan to meet those goals.
    3. Help you connect to appropriate on campus resources such as academic advising, financial aid, counseling, and accessibility services.
    4. Keep all meeting information confidential except under the following circumstances.
      1. If the coach is concerned the student is a danger to themselves or others
      2. If the coach becomes aware of the student’s involvement in abuse of children, elderly, or disabled persons.
      3. If the coach is otherwise required by law to disclose information.
    5. Maintain a professional relationship inside and outside of coaching sessions.

    Student Agreements

    1. Come on-time and prepared to coaching appointments. Choose an environment that has limited distractions. If you fail to arrive to your meeting (with no prior notice) within the 10-minute grace period, you will be marked as a ‘no show,’ and you will need to make another appointment.
    2. Be ready to lead the process and conversation.
    3. Be willing to discuss and explore factors such as study habits, motivation, and behaviors that could be impacting your academic success.
    4. Take steps towards your goals between appointments. Be honest when discussing progress and challenges that are present throughout the semester.
    5. Be open to feedback in times of positivity and times of needed improvement.
    6. Be ready to be held accountable for the aspects of your academic success that you have control over.
