Welcome Letter from the Dean

The University of North Georgia (UNG) is committed to “broad access” to higher education and to “a culture of academic excellence in a student-focused environment.” University College (UC) plays a crucial role in that mission. We provide high impact academic support services for primarily students seeking an associate degree but serve students across the university. These high-impact options include Learning Support courses, English as a Second Language courses, and General Studies programs. We are also proud to collaborate with and support the UNG Corps of Cadets. Additionally, University College provides a variety of free academic support tools such as Supplemental Instruction and Tutoring Services for all UNG students. UNIV career and internship courses allow you to explore your future career choices. I encourage you to use these resources throughout your academic career at UNG.

UC at UNG collaborates with the various academic departments to provide a robust and engaging experience for students led by innovative faculty and staff and to create a culture of embedded support. We are dedicated to offering an environment that is inviting and intellectually stimulating.

Please discuss these services with staff at any of our locations to explore how University College can help you meet your educational goals.

Welcome to the University of North Georgia!

Carol J. Adams, Ph.D.

Associate Vice President and Dean, University College
