    What is Academic Coaching?

Academic Coaching is a personalized meeting with a trained Academic Success Coach (ASC). They can help you improve upon your skills and current academics. Working with an ASC will help you develop skills in several areas including goal setting, time management, study skills, and more.

ASCs are not counselors or academic advisors. Conversations with the ASC will focus on connecting your current circumstances to achieving your future academic goals. The ASC will partner with you to build upon your strengths and skills to help you achieve your best college experience, and beyond.

Meeting with a coach will help you personalize your academics in a way that is healthy, stable, and manageable for you to stay on track academically.

    What Our Students Say

“My experience with the academic success coach was a very helpful and easy way for me to get back on track with my academics. Going to sit down and talk to someone who was open to hear anything I had to say was a great way for me to achieve my goals, make the right decisions, and learn new study skills for the future. It overall helped me become a better student as I was introduced to helpful material that I never knew and I greatly appreciate all the help they provided me.”

    - Conner S., Freshman, UNG Oconee Campus

“I found it really difficult to navigate college for the first time. I felt completely lost and overwhelmed. I sought out every opportunity available to me looking for support. I’m so thankful that I found (my academic coach). She’s been a tremendous support system for me, so encouraging and helpful. She’s been a key element in my academic success and I’m so appreciative to have her on the team.”

    - Desarae V., Freshman, UNG Gainesville Campus

“Coaching...has made the shift from high school to college so much easier. Without the meetings I’ve had with (my coach), this transition would’ve been much more difficult.”

    - Anyrhi M., Freshman, UNG Gainesville Campus
