Alvita was born and raised in southern Georgia. She has spent her seven-year higher education career working with various universities within the University System of Georgia. She has experience supporting a very diverse student population over the years. Alvita received her Bachelors of Science in Sociology from Georgia Southwestern State University in 2014. In 2017, Alvita graduated from the University of West Georgia with a Master’s of Education in Professional Counseling with a concentration in College Student Affairs. This makes her an excellent point person for all challenges that students face during their collegiate journey.
From residence life to academic success coaching, Alvita has spent years cultivating a set of skills that allow her to build trustworthy connections with all students. Recently, her experience included living and working in Costa Rica with first year students for the latter part of 2021. Being that it was her first time living outside of Georgia, the experience taught Alvita to always find the adventure in life.
“My career is dedicated to helping students take charge of their collegiate career with the confidence and determination to discover new things and make new pathways that fit their life goals. College plus adulting can be hard, but there are resources and people ready to support you through it all with accountability measures, and an abundance of grace.”
Outside of work, Alvita enjoys arts and crafts, journaling through music and movies, and trying new things.
