The purpose of the the University of North Georgia (UNG) Debate, Forensics, Interpretation Team is to provide UNG students with the opportunity to participate in both on-campus audience debates and, when feasible, intercollegiate debate and public speaking competitions. The benefits of these activities include improved marks in school, improved research skills, improved communication skills, and improved critical thinking skills. The mission of this club is to serve as many UNG students as possible through exposure to a diversity of debate, public speaking, and performance opportunities, both as observers and as participants.

The purpose of this club is to provide practical experiences to students in alternative dispute resolution, which is becoming an increasingly attractive option to court procedures. The club attains this goal through a summer intramural mediation tournament and a fall intramural mediation tournament. These tournaments serve as qualifiers to an annual regional intercollegiate mediation tournament in early October at Brenau University, which, in turn, is used by the Club to select students for a national tournament sponsored by the International Academy of Dispute Resolution early November. During the Spring Semester, the club assists students with any mediation exercises they may have in class. Those students within the club selected to compete at the regional tournament are known as “The UNG Mediation Team."
The mission of the Student Film Association is to promote enjoyment of film as an art form and to offer an environment in which film fans and film makers can interact and pursue their interests together. The SFA hosts weekly film viewings and produces student film productions.
