State Leadership Institution

A Tradition of Leadership

From our founding in 1873, UNG has been an educational leader. We are the second-oldest public university in Georgia, we were the first public college in Georgia to admit women, and we have offered a signature military education and leadership development program since the very beginning.

Leading the Nation

UNG is one of only six federally designated
senior military colleges in the nation.
Our cadets go on to lead the nation as
second lieutenants in the US Army.

Maybe you envision yourself as the officer at the front of the room. Maybe you’re the glue that holds a team together. Perhaps you are the first in your family to attend college. Or, maybe you don’t see yourself as a leader at all. Just you wait. UNG will help you develop the skills—and drive—to lead where it matters to you.
