    Overview

    Christopher Barnes is an Associate Professor of English and currently serves as the Associate Dean of Academic Administration for the Oconee campus. He received his Ph.D. from the University at Buffalo. He teaches courses in Romantic and Victorian Literature as well as first year composition. His research interests include nineteenth-century British literature, Charles Dickens, the history of the novel, composition and rhetoric, and pedagogy. He has published in several journals including the Dickens Studies Annual and has made numerous presentations on Dickens, nineteenth century literature, and on first-year writing pedagogy. Before his position at the University of North Georgia, Chris taught at Clemson, Middle Georgia College, and Gainesville State College.
