    LEAP at UNG

    Liberal Education and America’s Promise (LEAP) is an Association of American Colleges and University (AAC&U) program that champions real-world experiences, broad knowledge bases, and higher-order capacities. LEAP users engage the community in the classroom in an effort to better prepare students for a global economy and diversified democracy. LEAP emphasizes student development of:

    • a broad knowledge of the wider world (e.g, science, culture, and society);
    • in-depth achievement in a specific field of interest;
    • a sense of social responsibility;
    • strong intellectual and practical skills that span all major fields of study;
    • critical thinking skills allowing them to apply knowledge and skills real-world settings.

    LEAP into Action Grant

    LEAP into Action supports impactful changes to coursework by supporting faculty in implementing High Impact Practices within their classroom pedagogy. LEAP grants can range from $1,000 - $5,000 based on the scope of the project and potential impact to UNG’s learning community.

    Courses that employ high impact practices increase rates of student retention and student engagement. High impact practices include things like:

    • Application Process

      The 2023-2024 LEAP grant applications are due Monday, April 3, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.
