I have worked at Rainbow Children’s Home for a while. This month marked one year since I started training there. I was offered the ability to apply my job as an internship through the paid internship program. My professor Dr. Sara Mason reached out directly inviting me to take the opportunity as well as the option to complete a certification along with it.
Because I have worked at Rainbow and plan to continue to do so for a while after graduation, I was excited to have the option to have my work count towards my academic career as well. As far as working at Rainbow, having supportive coworkers and management has been an incredible perk. The opportunity to work with and have an impact on the girls I work with is also a major upside to the job.
I plan to attend graduate school for Social Work at some point and having an internship pertaining to my major under my belt will help me significantly.
