    Application for Intensive English Program

Please Note: We are not currently accepting applications for this program.

    Program Application Requirements

    English Language Requirement

In order to be accepted into the Intensive English Program, students must have graduated from high school and have at least low-intermediate level English because the CLE does not offer beginner-level English classes.

There are two ways to determine your English level for the CLE:

    1. If your TOEFL iBT score is above 55 or if your IELTS score is above 5.0, you may apply to the CLE.
    2. If you haven’t taken the TOEFL or IELTS - or if your TOEFL iBT score is below 55 or if your IELTS score is below 5.0 - an instructor of the CLE will interview you through Skype or Wechat to determine your English level. The interview is an informal occasion to determine your understanding of English and ability to answer questions. If the CLE instruction determines your English level is appropriate for the CLE, you may apply to the CLE.

    F-1 Visa Application:

E-mail the following documents to cle@ung.edu to complete your F-1 visa application:

    • CLE Intensive English program Financial Affidavit
    • I-20 Request Form (PDF)
    • Official bank letter from each sponsor’s bank. Please include an English translation of the official bank letter as well.
    • Copy of passport
    • UNG Immunization

    Please note:

    • The immunization form may be submitted at any time before coming to UNG if more time is needed to complete this form.
    • It takes 1-2 weeks to process Form I-20 after the CLE has received all required documents.
    • To receive Form I-20 from the CLE, a student must pay for express-mail through eShip Global.
    • After you receive Form I-20, you need to apply as soon as possible for the F-1 visa at the American Embassy or American Consulate in your country because it can take a few months to get a visa in some countries.
