Study Abroad
The Honors Program is committed to assisting students grow into global leaders; thus, we encourage all Honors students to consider study abroad. Each year, the University of North Georgia sends students to countries all over the world to study in a variety of majors, from the humanities to the sciences.
UNG’s Center for Global Engagement aids students in finding the program that is right for them. For information about other study abroad programs managed by UNG and/or by the University System of Georgia, contact the Center for Global Engagement and make an appointment today!
Honors Study Abroad Scholarships
To assist Honors students in studying abroad, the Honors Program awards competitive scholarships to selected students each year to help make the experience affordable.
To apply for the scholarships, students must:
- be making adequate progress toward graduating with Honors program distinction and
- be in good standing with the Honors Program.
The application requires a 500-word essay and two recommendation letters from UNG Faculty/Staff. All requirements information is available on the online application.

Spring 2025 study abroad programs - November 15, 2024 at midnightSummer 2025, Fall 2025, and academic year programs (2025-2026) - February 1, 2025 at midnight
