Office: Areas of Expertise: career counseling, student disabilities


Joyce Darden-Arnette is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 25 years’ experience in the mental health field. Joyce is also a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS). She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Rutgers University in New Jersey and her Master’s in counseling from New York Institute of Technology. Before joining the University of North Georgia Joyce was employed by Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida and Georgia Highlands College in Cartersville, Georgia. Her approach to counseling is solution-focused using cognitive-behavioral therapy and person centered therapy.  Her main areas of interest include facilitating women’s groups addressing physical, mental, and emotional well-being as well as strategies for building self-efficacy.
