Ms. Herrera joined the University of North Georgia in March 2019. After graduating from Brenau University with a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Counseling, she worked in the school systems, outpatient, and community-based settings.

Before joining UNG, Ms. Herrera was a Community Support Team Lead, working with individuals in the community who had severe and persistent mental illnesses.

Her counseling approach varies, using a multifaceted approach ranging from cognitive-behavioral, suicide risk management, interpersonal and solution-focused interventions. Her practice of interests include trauma, risk management, cultural and gender contexts, and problem solving solutions.
