Degree Formatting Formula

Bachelor's and Graduate Degrees without a Concentration

Option 1

  • [Major Name] ([Degree Acronym])
    • Example:
      • English (B.A.)

When using option 1 as a web heading, the full degree name should be written out in either the first or second sentence of the introductory paragraph on the page. That should follow the following formula:

  • The [capitalized Degree Type] with a major in [lowercase major.*]
    • Example:
      • The Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English. 

*Some exceptions, such as English.

Option 2

  • [Degree Type] with a Major in [Major]
    • Example:
      • Bachelor of Arts with a Major in English

Bachelor's with a Concentration

Option 1

  • [Major Name] Major with a [Concentration Name] Concentration ([Degree Acronym])
    • Examples:
      • Chemistry Major with a Biochemistry Concentration (B.S)
      • Kinesiology Major with an Exercise Science Concentration (B.S.)
