    Centralized Editing

    How Centralized Editing Works

Web coordinators are responsible for gathering information and submitting web request tickets on behalf of their unit. Learn more about content owner and coordinator responsibilities or find your unit's coordinator.

    Simple Edits

Simple edits are edits to existing text on existing pages that do not alter the layout or the design of the page. These edits are processed by the webteam's associate web designer.

    • Simple Edit Turnaround Times

The webteam follows the below formula to triage and process simple edit requests based on the urgency level selected on the ticket. If selecting "high" or "critical" urgency, please include a reason for this urgency so that we may adjust our queue as necessary.

      • Low - Edit completed within five business days
      • Medium - Edit completed within two business days
      • High - Edit completed within same business day if submitted before 12 p.m.
      • Critical - Edit completed within two hours if submitted before 3 p.m.

Please also keep in mind these times are our general guidelines, and are not guaranteed, as high-volume periods, such as the start of the semester, may result in longer wait times.

    Extensive Edits and More

Edits that are not "simple" are escalated to the web designer assigned to your unit's site. The designers will then work with you on your request.

    • Extensive Request Turnaround Times
Types of requests where the ticket may be escalated include the following:
      • Page layout overhauls
      • Reworking of a page
      • New page requests
      • New site requests

Due to the varying nature of these requests, turnaround times vary on a case-by-case basis. Your designer will be able to provide you with an estimated timeframe once the project begins.
