Pine Valley Ropes Course Rules & Regulations

    • Reservations
      • All group reservations should be made at least 7 business days prior to the desired program date, and a minimum of 8 participants is required to secure the reservation.
      • Reservations can be made by contacting North Georgia Outdoor Pursuits (NGOP) and/or by completing the online reservation request. The group’s reservation is not confirmed until the Group Leader receives a confirmation email from NGOP Staff.
        • A Group Leader must be appointed at the time the reservation is made. If the initial Group Leader cannot be present, a new Group Leader must be appointed and the NGOP Staff must be notified of the change as soon as possible.
      • All groups should reserve a secondary date in addition to their primary date in the case of inclement weather or other extenuating circumstances that may arise.
      • Full payment is due no later than the day of the program. Payment must be received in cash or check form, and can be mailed or received in person. Checks should be made out to UNG Rec Sports. Failure to make payment may result in forfeiture of the reservation date.
      • All groups should arrive 15 minutes prior to their reservation. A 15 minute grace period will be allotted past the program start time to allow the group to meet the minimum requirement of 8 participants. If the minimum number of participants is not met within the 15 minute grace period, the program may be canceled.
    • General Rules & Regulations
      • All participants must provide a complete Waiver and Health History Form prior to participating in any activities. These forms will be emailed to the Group Leader in the confirmation email and can also be found on NGOP’s website. If a participant is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian will be required to sign the forms on behalf of the participant.
      • Pregnant women will be prohibited from participating in any activities that require their feet to leave the ground for risk management and liability purposes.
      • Individuals that exceed the weight limit of 250 pounds may not be permitted to participate in all group activities for risk management and liability purposes.
      • Closed-toe shoes are required. Shoes must have a rubber sole and must be athletic in nature. Participation is not allowed without proper footwear. No exceptions will be made.
      • Clothing should be comfortable and loose to allow free movement. Athletic clothing, jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and shorts are all acceptable. Large jackets or the like may need to be removed for risk management purposes.
      • Loose or excessive jewelry is not allowed.
      • Long hair should be tied back.
      • Participants should bring a water bottle.
      • Personal gear including, but not limited to, harnesses, helmets and other climbing gear will not be permitted for use by participants on the course for risk management and liability purposes.
      • No pets will be permitted within a program, with the exception of service animals. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), NGOP reserves the right to ask if the service animal is required because of a disability and inquire about the work or task the dog has been trained to perform. In the case a participant is accompanied by a service animal, the NGOP Staff will accommodate the participant’s needs to the best of their ability. Any additional assistance or requirements should be discussed with NGOP Staff as soon as possible.
Georgia law requires that a specially trained Assistance Dog be allowed to accompany a blind, deaf, or disabled       person or trainer to all public accommodations and common carriers. Extra charges cannot be made due to the       presence of the dog, but if the dog causes damage to the premises, the handler of the dog is liable.
      • Due to the nature of the activities at the Pine Valley Ropes Course, participants may be asked to remove a firearm from their person as it would impede the ability to fully participate in high and low elements.

In accordance to GA House Bill 280, Part 3 of Article 4 of Chapter 11 of Title 16 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to carrying and possession of firearms, reads as follows:

(vii) Only apply to the carrying of handguns which are concealed.

'Concealed' means carried in such a fashion that does not actively solicit the attention of others and is not prominently, openly, and intentionally displayed except for purposes of defense of self or others. Such term shall include, but not be limited to, carrying on one's person while such handgun is substantially, but not necessarily completely, covered by an article of clothing which is worn by such person, carrying within a bag of a nondescript nature which is being carried about by such person, or carrying in any other fashion as to not be clearly discernible by the passive observation of others.

      • The use of alcohol, illegal recreational drugs or any form of tobacco while participating in an NGOP Program is strictly prohibited.
    • Cancellations
      • Group cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the reservation date. Failure to cancel at least 24 hours prior to the reservation will result in a non-refundable fee of 25% of the group’s total payment. The fee should be paid at the time of cancellation. Until payment is received, the group will not be able to schedule a new reservation date.
      • Extenuating circumstances will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
    • Inclement Weather
      • Programming may be canceled due to rain, snow, excessively wet conditions, thunder, lightning, and/or tornado. If a group’s reservation is canceled due to weather, NGOP will work with the Group Leader to reschedule the group’s program.
      • Low challenge course programming may be able to move to an indoor location. If inclement weather is anticipated for low challenge course programming, NGOP will contact the Group Leader to attempt to move the program indoors before rescheduling.
