Our personal consultations are confidential sessions between a student and a Financial Wellbeing professional. A consultation targets specific needs and creates a personalized action plan for financial success.
None of the information provided during a financial wellbeing consultation will ever be shared with any other member of the UNG or outside community unless express permission is granted. The issue of confidentiality is especially important in the personal consultations - where personal financial information is discussed.
Studies across the country have shown that college students are entering college with high debt levels and expanding this consumer debt throughout–not including student loans! With this information and a growing awareness of the need for increased financial literacy, UNG is committed to providing students the opportunity to strengthen their financial skills and increase their financial stability.
Students sharing financial responsibilities with anyone in their lives are encouraged to bring that relevant person to a personal consultation. Many friendships and relationships have been negatively impacted by the lack of shared financial values and habits. Personal consultations help to promote proactive communication, understanding, and adaptability in relationships when discussing finances.
We are committed to partnering with students from the moment they begin their college experience to graduation and beyond. We have many different programs tailored to the varying experiences and needs of students throughout their college careers. The needs of both traditional and non-traditional students are important, and our programs and consultations are tailored to these diverse situations.
No. Since our primary focus is to improve financial stability, we target our efforts towards building financial literacy and promoting effective money management. We are happy to work with students who want to understand basic investments and relevant concepts.
