English (B.A.) with Teacher Certification

The English (B.A.) with Teacher Certification is offered in conjunction with the Middle Grades, Secondary & Science Department and subject to their requirements.

Admission to the College of Education Middle Grades, Secondary & Science program is also required. The Teacher Certification option includes courses in teacher certification and field experience, leading to certification to teach grades 6-12.

The English Department is committed to low-cost textbook options for our students through Open Education Resources developed by English faculty and published by UNG Press. English Department faculty have published digital texts in English Composition, World Literature I and II, and British Literature that are available to students at no cost.

As an English Major in Education, you will need to follow certain guidelines that are unique to the Teacher Certification.
