Dr. Preston has been teaching at UNG's Dahlonega Campus since 2005. He has served as department head since June 2015. Prior to coming to UNG, Dr. Preston taught at Gainesville College from 1991 to 2005, serving as department head for five years. He was born and raised in Birmingham, AL.

Work Experience

Prior to his career as a college professor, Dr. Preston worked as an exercise physiologist (fitness testing and exercise prescription) and strength coach. He spent two years in Saudi Arabia serving as a strength coach for the Saudi Air Force. He then served as an exercise physiologist and personal trainer in Birmingham, AL and Jackson, MS before beginning his career as a college professor.
