The Department of Kinesiology offers pathways for students interested in careers in personal training, commercial fitness, strength and conditioning, cardiac rehabilitation, or teaching in a public school. Our programs in kinesiology also prepare students for entry to pre-professional graduate programs including, but not limited to, athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or physician assistant. Our department’s curriculum has a strong science base providing a great foundation for a career in health and fitness and preparation for pre-professional graduate programs. Examples of coursework and areas of faculty expertise include exercise physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, nutrition, exercise epidemiology and aging, advanced strength and conditioning, and exercise testing and prescription.
