Overview

Dr. Cordery joined Student Counseling in January 2009 and became Director of the Center in July, 2010. He earned his Doctorate and Master's degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Cordery earned his Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from Kennesaw State University. Dr. Cordery has previous university counseling experience as a practicum student here at North Georgia in 2006-2007 and as a pre-doctoral intern at Grand Valley State University in Michigan. He has also worked in private practice and for several years at a day hospital for eating disorders. He works primarily from a cognitive theoretical perspective. Although Dr. Cordery enjoys working with a wide variety of client problems, his areas of interest include eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and working with combat veterans around issues of trauma and reintegration to college life.
