Fun fact or something interesting about yourself?

I have 15 people in my family who have attended either North Georgia College, North Georgia College and State University, or University of North Georgia. My Grandaddy started our family tradition here and graduated from NGC in 1958.

What is your favorite quote or words of inspiration for prospective students?

"Happiness is a state of mind. It's just according to the way you look at things." – Walt Disney

What is the best advice you can give for a student looking at colleges?

Wherever you decide to attend college, GET INVOLVED! Do not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and see what your university has to offer you. There are so many opportunities to take advantage of and experiences to be had during your college career. The lessons learned and memories made throughout college are ones you will cherish for a lifetime.

What is your favorite part about being a recruiter for UNG?

I love being able to share with prospective and current students and families what makes UNG so special. Though there have been many changes over the years for our institution, the value of our traditions and longstanding history of both Cadet and Civilian students sets us apart from others and makes UNG that much more valuable.

What is one thing you wish you knew in college that you know now?

That one bad grade is not going to make or break your career. Take a deep breath and try not to stress or worry about the small stuff. Enjoy the little things and make the most of every second because you will never get these years back as an undergrad.
I never knew how much I would miss being surrounded by so many of my closest friends all the time, so enjoy the time you have with your roommates, teammates, sorority or fraternity, and classmates.
