5.1.2 Focus on Student Success including Community Engagement
In each category (Teaching, Scholarship, and Service), of UNG’s Faculty Annual Review (FAR), and P&T portfolios, faculty will address the USG focus on student success over all three categories in the Faculty Annual Review. Faculty effort and activity level in promoting student success will be considered as a measure of achievement, as appropriate. Standards for effort and activity level in promoting student success will be defined by individual departments. Effort and activities should value community engagement, traditional discovery techniques, and other innovations.
For faculty hired before Fall 2022, the following criteria apply:
- Faculty Annual Reports will identify and evaluate faculty activity related to student success beginning in CY 2022.
- Tenure-track candidates submitting pre-tenure or post-tenure applications in Spring 2023, Spring 2024, or Spring 2025 are expected to show evidence of some activity promoting student success but will not yet be evaluated on departmentally defined measures related to student success. Those submitting applications in Spring 2026 and after will be expected to address departmentally defined standards for promoting student success.
- All candidates submitting promotion and/or tenure applications in Fall 2022, Fall 2023, or Fall 2024 are expected to show evidence of some activity promoting student success, but will not be evaluated on departmentally defined measures related to student success. Those submitting applications in Fall 2025 and after will be expected to address departmentally defined standards for promoting student success.
