    Requirements & Application Process

    Take the next step in your criminal justice career and be ready to step into your future as a public safety professional.

    Eligibility and Participation Requirements

    • Be a bachelor's degree-seeking, freshman with a declared major in criminal justice.
    • Be a United States citizen. 
    • Opt in to the Public Safety Academy program and complete an application (see PSA Resources).
    • Be willing to complete additional training, field lab experiences, and periodic written exams.
    • Pass a sports physical exam.
    • Must have a minimum overall 2.8 GPA prior to admittance and must maintain a 2.5 GPA in the major for the duration of the program.
    • Pass a criminal background check and driver's history report.
    • Pass an entrance examination. View the minimum scores required.
    • Pass the Physical Ability Test.
    • Pass a panel interview.
    • Pass a Psychological examination.
