Sociology (B.S.)
The Bachelor of Science degree in sociology provides a strong liberal arts preparation for entry level positions throughout the business, social service, and government worlds.
Since its subject matter is diverse, sociology offers valuable preparation for careers in journalism, politics, public relations, business, or public administration-fields that involve investigative skills and working with diverse groups.
The bachelor’s degree requires completion of Areas A-E of the Core Curriculum and Area F as described below. Successful completion or exemption of READ 0099 is required before beginning any sociology courses. A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required for successful completion of the bachelor’s degree.
