Review the Program Director Handbook (PDF). It is highly advisable that you print a copy of this handbook to take with you.

Insurance policies will be purchased for all program participants. All participants will receive a basic plan. Depending on the location of the program, some program participants will receive higher coverages.

The University System of Georgia (USG) Board of Regents (BOR) Business Procedures Manual provides essential business procedural components for USG institutions. You can find additional information on policies and procedures for TravelAgency Funds, and Study Abroad, as well as many other topics and areas. The Risk Management Guidelines for Study Abroad Programs, established by the BOR, can also be found on the USG site.

Program Director Orientation

Being a program director is a very rewarding, yet challenging, position. Because of this, we require all program directors to go through mandatory training sessions. The information is broken down into two sessions within the orientation.

Session I
Housekeeping – logistics, finances, risk management, and  general information

  • Program proposal and approval process
  • CGE’s role and services prior, during, and after the program
  • Financial matters
  • Risk Management

Session II
Terra Dotta (Online application system)

  • Overview of student application system
  • Overview of program director view/access
  • Program brochures-information update

UNG International Programs Incident Report Form (PDF)

Clery Act Certification Form (PDF): Clery Act reporting applies to Study Abroad programs because program locations are considered an extension of the UNG campus. This could include hotels, classrooms, meetings areas, etc. It is the responsibility of the program director or faculty advisor to complete the Clery Act Certification Form to certify that there were (a) no reportable incidents or (b) that there were reportable incidents and include a copy of the incident report.
