    Study Away Academy

    CGE staff will conduct three 75-minute workshops over the spring term. Faculty who successfully complete the Study Away Academy will receive up to $500 to conduct a site visit to assist them with finalizing a faculty-led study away program. Program participants commit to submitting a site visit report and a completed study away program proposal for programs during summer 2023 by September 1, 2022.

    Faculty who wish to participate in the Study Away Academy should submit an application along with the Department Head recommendation by January 17, 2022.

    Workshop Descriptions

    • Program Development and Academic Framework: February 3, 2022

      The session will provide an overview of UNG policies surrounding study away programming. The primary focus will be on study away program design and implementation. Program design: curriculum design and learning outcomes that maximize the location and local partnerships. Program implementation: assess program needs and look for partners who can provide quality services.

    • Program Budget and Recruitment Strategies: March 3, 2022
      How to Budget Without Sacrificing Academic Goals and Recruitment Strategies

      This session will cover the budget model and financial policies governing study away programming at UNG. Faculty will learn how to maximize funding to achieve program academic goals. In addition, CGE staff will discuss recruitment strategies, social media tips, and ways to collaborate to maximize recruitment efforts for study away programs.

    • Putting It All Together, Site Visit Preparation: April 7, 2022

      This final session will go cover best practices for a successful site visit and program proposal tips. The session will be virtual and scheduled based on participant’s availability.
