Associate Degree Programs
The Associate of Arts (A.A.) and the Associate of Science (A.S.) degrees in core curriculum are 2-year degrees that can be applied to a 4-year bachelor's degree should the student choose to continue his/her post-secondary education. The academic subjects listed in this section (Area F) are advising areas of concentrated study (18 credit hours) within the A.A. and A.S. degree requirements.
The goal of the Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies is not only to train students in the practical application of legal theory, but to fine tune their analytical, communication and organizational skills, while always being aware of the unauthorized practice of law prohibition. Paralegals must always work under the supervision and direction of a licensed attorney.
