    Overview

    Ms. Catterson earned her Master’s degree in East Asian Language and Literature from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. She specializes in teaching Chinese as a second language. She also has a M.A. in English as a Second Language also from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa and her Bachelor’s degree from National Taiwan Normal University in Taiwan, ROC. Zou laoshi, as she is referred to by her students, began teaching part-time at UNG in 2006. Her success in encouraging students to continue their Chinese studies led to the creation of the minor. In the 2008 summer, she inaugurated the first Summer Language Institute, which she has taught every summer thereafter through 2014.
