Percussion Ensemble (DAH)
UNG Percussion Ensemble is open to all UNG students regardless of campus affiliation with prior percussion performance experience. No audition is necessary, however non-Percussion Majors may be asked to provide proof of performance experience or ability. Part assignments are generated based on playing ability and performance experience.
UNG Percussion Ensemble performs repertoire that samples current as well as historically significant composers exposing student to a wide variety of ensemble literature from trio/quartet up to large ensemble.
The UNG Percussion Ensemble performs one concert per semester and often embarks on a spring tour of local and regional high schools in an effort to engage new audiences and recruit for the ensemble.
Students wishing to perform with the UNG Percussion Ensemble do not need to own any instruments, however having a selection of sticks/mallets is beneficial. If a student is interested in participating but does not own any percussion implements, temporary accommodations can be made by contacting the director.
