The University of North Georgia (UNG) Sinfonietta is the string orchestra on the Dahlonega campus.
Sinfonietta performs a wide variety of orchestral literature, including repertoire for strings and symphonic works with winds and percussion. During the spring semester, Sinfonietta accompanies student winners of the annual Concerto/Aria Competition. Sinfonietta also collaborates with student and faculty composers, guest soloists, and other UNG ensembles. We present four full-length concerts to the campus community each academic year.
All students are invited to participate, and auditions take place in the first week of class. Students can enroll in Sinfonietta for one credit hour or participate without enrolling. Scholarships are available for players with leadership potential. For more information contact Dr. Esther Morgan-Ellis.
