The University of North Georgia Singers, under the direction of Dr. John M. Broman, is a performance-oriented ensemble that sings often on campus and throughout the community and state each semester. Entrance to the group is by audition and is offered for one hour of college credit. This ensemble rehearses three times a week. The choir typically numbers 50-75, with the music backgrounds of its members being as diverse as the music performed. All are committed to making music for the enjoyment of others.
Singers serves as the university's primary touring choral ensemble, assuming the role of music ambassadors in the process. Extensive touring takes place on an every-other-year basis, with trips overseas being scheduled once every four years. Singers visited England in 1997, 2001, and 2005, and added Scotland to the trip in 2009, 2013, and 2017. Plans are to return to the United Kingdom in 2024.
